Pins the size of a piece of hair are inserted into the body at specific points to bring about harmony in the body, mind, and spirit. These points are chosen in conjunction with the patient’s complaints, as well as, Chinese diagnostics.

Community Acupuncture

Community Acupuncture is a nationwide movement to create access to acupuncture through reduced costs. Community Acupuncture clinics offer treatment in a group setting where the patient spends less time with the practitioner.

Points may be placed on the scalp, ears, below the elbows, and below the knees to treat the entire body, typically with 3-12 needles. There is no need to undress – just remove your shoes, roll up your pants and sleeves. We will talk in a private room to address your treatment.

We can even address your back pain by treating your wrists! That’s the cool thing about acupuncture, the needles do not necessarily need to be placed directly where you are experiencing issues.

Other people quietly receiving treatment at the same time will surround you. Dividers will be set up to create more privacy, along with some relaxing music. Patients will benefit in many ways from the community setting. In our busy society, it is not often we stop and take time to relax with others. This is not a lack of privacy but an opportunity to experience treatment with family, friends and community. As with any intentional group endeavor, the shared space makes individual treatments more powerful. Here, the patients create the healing atmosphere as much as the practitioner.
